Latti Associates LLC will be sponsoring both the net mending and scallop shucking contests at the Massachusetts Working Waterfront Festival this weekend, September 28 and 29. The festival is held in New Bedford, the largest commercial fishing port in the U.S. and celebrates the man and women harvesting the North Atlantic.

Latti Associates will be sponsoring two Fisherman’s Contests, the new mending contest on September 28 and the scallop shucking contest on September 29, at Steamship Pier. Both contests begin at noon and will offer cash prizes for first through third place. For both contests, third place will receive $100, second $250 and first $500. For the scallop shucking contest, shucking knives will also be given out as prizes.

In addition to the contests, the festival will feature dining, including fish & chips, fried scallops and clam cakes from The Sea Food Hut, cooking demonstrations, a farmer’s market, boat displays, vessel tours and children’s activities.

The attorneys at Latti Associates LLC will have a booth at the festival in addition to sponsoring the fisherman contests. Stop by to meet with us and talk with us or grab a mug- if you are a fisherman, you will receive a free scallop knife. We are looking forward to meeting everyone.
