Nationwide Maritime Trial Lawyer: Barge Accident Kills One on Sacramento River

A worker was killed when a tractor he was operating on fell off a barge and into the Sacramento River on November 25. The man was operating an excavator when the tractor he was riding on slipped into the water and drowned the worker.

According to the Solano County Sheriff’s office, it was initially reported as an industrial accident and the Coast Guard and Drowning Accident Recovery Team based in Sacramento responded. It took divers three hours to access the cab of the tractor where the worker was, due to the fact that the cab had fallen sideways into the water. It was also 15 feet underwater and buried in 3 feet of silt.

An investigation into the incident is ongoing.
