After 41 years of loyal and excellent service, our longtime administrative assistant, Donna, has retired from the firm. Donna began her career at another law firm, but she made her way to Latti Associates LLC after a co-worker from her prior firm recommended it to her.
March 2014 marked Donna’s 41st year working at Latti Associates LLC. During her tenure, she considered the firm like a second home. When she first began working us, the office was run by the founder, Michael Latti, whose family she came to know very well, especially when Michael’s daughter, Carolyn Latti, and her brother-in-law, David Anderson, succeeded Michael as managing partners.
Donna remained at Latti Associates LLC for so long for a combination of reasons. First and foremost, she genuinely liked and respected the type of hardworking, salt-of-the-earth clients that our firm represents. Secondly, unlike working for an insurance attorney and having to deal with insurance adjusters all day, Donna loved that she was able to work hands-on with our clients as well as with other aspects of the maritime industry.
Outside of work, most recently, Donna had been involved with a drum and bugle core as an alumni member.
Although Donna is a proud cancer survivor, having overcome breast cancer over 14 years ago, health issues in recent years contributed to her decision to retire. At the end of the day, however, it was some advice that her father gave her that might have, ultimately, led to her decision to hang it up. He told her, as she put it, to take the time to “stop and smell the flowers” while she could, because they “don’t smell the same from underneath.”
