Explosions on two Alabama fuel barges caused a huge fire and multiple injuries this April. According to Fox News, the U.S. Coast Guard stated the cause of the fire was most likely a spark that occurred during the barges’ cleaning. The fire began after the explosions on Wednesday night, April 24, and burned until it was extinguished the next morning.
Three people were rushed to the University of South Alabama Medical Center for critical burn-related injuries. A cruise ship near the site of the fire was evacuated after the initial explosions began and no one from the ship was injured. A team of investigators was dispatched to determine the cause of the fire.
No news has addressed how the injured burn victims are doing now or the results of the investigation.
