Latti Associates LLC is proud to announce that partner Carolyn M. Latti is now chair of the Admiralty Law Section of the American Association for Justice (AAJ). Her appointment was made official at the AAJ 2012 Annual Convention, which was held in Chicago from July 28-31.
The American Association for Justice, formerly known as the Association of Trial Lawyers of America (ATLA), is the world’s largest trial bar and has been supporting plaintiffs’ attorneys for over 65 years. The Admiralty Law Section, which covers the practice of maritime law, focuses on two main issues: 1) all maritime injury and death claims, and 2) injury and wrongful death claims involving seamen, longshoremen, harbor workers, shipbuilders and repairmen, owners and operators of pleasure boats and jet skis, and commercial and recreational divers.
Carolyn has been an active member of the Admiralty Law Section for many years, serving as secretary from 2009-2010, vice chair and newsletter editor from 2010-2011, and chair-elect from 2011-2012. As one of the few female maritime plaintiffs’ attorneys on the East Coast, she brings to the chair position a wealth of experience protecting the rights of fishermen, dockworkers, merchant seamen, and passengers on yachts, boats, ferries and cruise ships.
